Auto Theft Prevention/Audio Jack Immobilizer?

Question
Hello, thanks for taking the time to look at my question, our non profit organization has a older van a 1983 Ford Club Wagon. There is was a small audio 3.5mm headphone jack which was placed underneath the dash near the fuses, and it was required to be inserted in order for the car to start. We have lost this "security key" and our van is stuck at a the person whom we volunteer for. Do you have any suggestions on how we might resolve this issue? I have taken apart the jack and tried to short the wires. But no luck. The car has no alarm system or a wireless entry system. Someone suggest to trace the wire and check where the company might have done the bypass? If any of you have information it would be great. Also the audio jack plug was very small it seemed to be just the jack only and a small plastic piece. Not large enough to have a microchip so im not sure this system has been in the car for quite some time i am unsure when but atleat 10 years.

Answer
The best idea I think is to remove the starter lill
device alltogether, rather then attempt to correct
this one. You can always add another inexpensive unit with
fresh overide "keys" if you wish, but it's unlikely
that the current device can be salvaged back to original
performance here.

Sorry for the bad news, but if malfunctioning
now, it's best at this point to get a 29.95
replacement for optimal use.

See either the keypad starter kill, or the blade
key type at www.12voltplanet.com if interested
in replacing.
