Expert: INSTALLSUPPORT - 11/20/2007

Question
I have a 98 jeep grand cherokee 5.9.  Last night my purse was stolen and the main key and the spare were in it.  I have things in my jeep I need, so I need to get into it.  I need to know if I break in (quite easy actually) how I can turn off the alarm.  I'm assuming that I won't be able to get into the engine compartment to unhook the battery.  Also, I live in an area that has no dealerships and no locksmiths.  Please Help!!!!

Tough spot, and an even tougher predicament.
You will at this point, need to contact the dealer I am
afraid. I know you said you don't live near one, but
not alot you can do about that now. You will need
to make arrangements with AAA to tow it in
so they can replace the coded "SENTRY KEYS.

Getting into it to get your syuff is fine, but
you will need to get those keys to start the
engine, and to disarm the OEM/FACTORY alarm.

Sorry the news is not what you wanted to hear,
but better to know what you are up against here.
Not the easiest vehicle to work with unfortunately.

Start with contacting the service department
at any Jeep dealership to see what they suggest.
