my 1999 gmc sierra's passlock system has been activated. i have read about a "PLJX GM ignition bypass module".  do they work on activated systems? i am trying to forego a trip to the dealer, $$$$

Yes the PLJX is intended to
momentarilly circumvent the PASSLOCK
system in your vehicle for remote start
applications.

The PLJX uses an negative output on the remote
starter. In your case, you would simply put
this input wire to a chassis ground.

This keeps the PASSLOCK system from arming again
until ungrounded. In your case it would first
disarm it, then keep it that way.

We do suggest you take this into a
good car alarm installer if unsure
of your skills.
