Auto Theft Prevention/Jumpstarting a dead battery - car alarm going off

Question
I have a 97 Chevy Camaro with an Automate II alarm and remote starter (after market). My battery recently died and needs to be replaced.  I have tried to jump start it, but as the battery charges the alarm starts to go off and I cannot start the car.  I have tried to use the remote to turn off the alarm, but that is not working.  My plan was to jump start the car and go get a new battery installed.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Unfortunately, this vehicle has a the VATS key
based engine disabling system, and it's currently
engaged. The ignition does not recognize
the chip in your key any longer.

A bypass was put in wherever you had the
Automate installed, and may have reset as well.

I suggest you contact the company for some service
on the install now, your passlock is engaged.

Sorry about that.
Yell at Chevy, not me please.
