Expert: INSTALLSUPPORT - 9/19/2007

I have a 2000 Dodge Intrepid, the dealership installed a kill switch, it is not a remote starter, it only allows you not to start the car until the button on the remote for a few seconds. I purchased the car in 2000. The battery and starter have been replaced recently. Even when the starter was replace, I had to tell the mechanic about pressing the button on the my keychain. The remote I have to start the car says ZEUS. How do I over ride the switch or what does it take to remove it completely. I really do not know where to look or what I should be looking for. I have called dodge dealers and merchants with no success.

I did see one answer on your site about turning the key forward, within 5 seconds flip switch direction, then off.

I will try this when I arrive home, but I hope you could have another answer if this one does not work.

You can look at the valet/overide options in the
past postings, but honestly, I say remove that
system now. It's just not going to be helpful
for you. Better to take it to a local installation shop,
(after market) and have them remove it, and replace
it with something you know how to operate, and
understand what it's doing. Makes for a better,
more secure experience in the long run,
then always second guessing it.

Don't want something to happen on the road
you can't fix.
