QUESTION: I just purchased a used 2004 Camry LE.  A aftermarket theft deterrent system was installed and is highly sensitive.  If I leave the keys in the ignition and close to door, after about 20 seconds the doors lock and the system is engaged.  I have locked myself out several times.  The alarm will go off and the system will engage if I take too long opening the doors and/or trunk.  Also, if I get out of the car and don't lock it with keyless remote the system activate within 20-30 seconds.  How can I adjust this highly sensitive system?

ANSWER: Please look in the user manual of the alarm
you had installed to see how to toggle
between passive arming (current set up)
and active arming (Have to arm it yourself.)

All alarms are different, so you need to determine
what your specific alarm requires to do the
change desired.

QUESTION: The former owner installed the theft deterrent system and there is no users manual.  How do I find out what kind of system I have?

Please try a site like www.keylessride.com.
www.keynfob.com , or www.remotes4you.com
to get identify the system you have using
the remotes. You will find an FCC ID # on the back.

Then track back to the manufacturer to see if the user
manual is available.
