Question
QUESTION: Hi, I recently bought a 2006 chrysler sebring touring convertible. For a couple of weeks I have been having problems in the morning with the factory installed alarm going off. It is when it is cold and/or damp out that I have the problem.  It will continue for about a minute and the key fobs will not shut it off.  It doesn't prevent driving the car, it will stop, but then go off again randomly as I drive the car.  One day it went off several times...even after it warmed up a bit. HELP!! Thanks in advance!

ANSWER: Please tell me what you are experiencing.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

Best Regards,

QUESTION: Hi, It is the factory installed one that is mentioned in the owner's manual.  The horns honk sometimes several times in a row, then long incessant honk, the lights flash and the the theft alarm red light on the instrument panel goes on. Does that help? thanks

Answer
Ok, if the OEM alarm
malfunctioning now,
(car horn blarring and head lights flashing)
odds are, it will again.

Please take this to a technician for
implimentation.

Normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
LT.GREEN/ORANGE  (+) AT BCM,
PIN 4 ON C4 CONNECTOR |- positive polarity|
18OO-OHM RESISTOR WILL ARM AND LOCK.
745-OHM RESISTOR WILL DISARM AND UNLOCK
WITH DOUBLE PULSE.The BCM MODULE is located
BEHIND THE DRIVERS SIDE OF DASH NEAR FUSEBOX

This terminates the OEM alarm functions entirely.

That should do it.
Have a good day.
