Question
We purchased a 1998 Grand Caravan in June of this year from a dealership. The vehicle was a former daily rental.  All was well until this past Friday when  the van would not start after being driven to the local grocery store only 7 mins away.  It started OK the next day and was driven home, where once turned off would not restart.  Is there any anti-theft device on this vehicle that could be causing this or  are there any other way I could by pass this alarm... Thanks for your advice

There could be an alarm with starter kill
in this van.

Look under the dash area for a button or, a toggle
switch. When you locate it, turn on the ignition
key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.

This solves the problem for now.

Then if you want to remove it, take it to a local
after market alarm dealer and have it done there.

They may even be able to reset/reprog. the features on
the alarm you have, to allow you to use the system
more comfortably, but of course, your call.
