Question
i just purchased a 2001 Grand Chirokee laredo in the state and drove to the port on getting to the destination the battery was flat and was removed this caused the Skis system to come on and the car have not started with the original key ever since. is they any way i could restart the Skis to make my key work.

Answer
No sorry, this one needs the dealership to
help you out.

It appears you've reset the Deimler/Benz/Jeep
"smart key" system.
The car does not recognise the chip in the ignition
key any longer.

At this point, this system
needs to be reprogrammed I believe.
You can tow it to any Jeep vehicle dealer
to have the service department re code it.

The trouble is in the battery powering down,
and wiping clear the memory. Once this is done,
Jeep needs to put it on thery're
diagnostic/reprogrammer to reset it to normal
operation.

Sorry about that.
