Question
We purchased a 2006 Grand Caravan Stow'n Go in June of this year from a dealership. The vehicle was a former daily rental.  All was well until this past Friday when  the van would not start after being driven to the local grocery store only 7 mins away.  It started OK the next day and was driven home, where once turned off would not restart.  Is there any anti-theft device on this vehicle that could be causing this or does it sound like we need to replace the starter? Ofcourse, we are just out of warranty... Thanks for your advice

Ms. Lynn,
  There is a transponder fuel shut off
system in this truck. The Chrysler "smart key"
system you have may have lost programing, and
needs the dealership to simply reset it.

That should not be pricey, and should actually
be free if you are going to the guy you
bought it from as a courtesy. You trusted him/her
to sell you the product, let's see if it's
important to keep you happy now for future business.

It can happen by putting another transponder type
key in the ignition switch, or the car was
powered down some how, and it wiped the transponder
code. The key and reader in the ignition
are now mis matched. The fuel cut off is engaged.

Call the service dept at your dealer in the morning
to see what they can do for you as a "valued"
and hopefully, continuing customer of they'res.
