QUESTION: security comes on in my dodge durango and car wont srart unhooked battery

ANSWER: Please be more specific.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

QUESTION: lights flashing horn blowing factory installed equipment

Not good news.
Ok, if the OEM alarm is in trigger mode now,
(car horn blarring and head lights flashing)
odds are, it will be again without
Dodge resetting it.

Normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is not responding,
the following ways are options
you can use to disable it:

The FACTORY arm is negative trigger thru a 644 ohm resistor.
Disarm is negative trigger thru a 1565 ohm resistor.
They use the same wire!
MUST use relays. This wire will also lock the doors,
and it will unlock with a double pulse.

To do this, you will need an aftermarket keyless entry
or alarm to provide the appropriate (-) resisted pulses.

Not an easy job for a novice to do.
I STRONGLY suggest you have Dodge reset
it by they're diagnostic, or go to the local
car alarm installer for that fix.
