Question
I replaced battery, starter, alternator in my 2004 mercury sable. everything checks out fine but won't start. a friend put comp reader in and it said turn ignition on but is was on. Do I need to do something special to get it to start again? anti theft devise always blinks even with turn in on position.
Ok, It appears you've reset the PATS.
The car does not recognise the chip in the ignition
key any longer.
The PATS (FORD'S PASSIVE ANTI THEFT SYSTEM)
needs to be reprogrammed I believe.
You can tow it to any FORD vehicle dealer
to have the service department re code it.
The troube is in the ignition at the reader
probably, but Ford will need to determine that.
