QUESTION: someone tried to steal my 2005 dodge stratus I have a smart key they busted mysteerig column and tried to steal my car my car wont start with my key everything works car wont turn over, my immobilizer is intact do I need to re code my key

ANSWER: Yes ma'am. They will need to inspect
for damage as well. But if none found,
they will re stage the keys
(bring both if you have).

QUESTION: sorry another question only had liability at the time  when i place my key in the ignition the lights radio dash board controls work my key will not turn all the way, I called a locks smith who told me that could fix the ignition and fix the lock on the door and if the car needs reprogramming they can do but for a much cheaper rate than the dealership, it is cheaper for a locksmith than a dealer.

Yes ma'am. As a rule, most after market
products and services are less expensive
then the OEM dealer original parts and services.

The Locksmith may need more business and can
afford to be competitive and is
more able to negotiate pricing on the same parts
and work performed to get your business.

Best way to tell if this applies, is to
call a Dodge dealer service department and get
a quote on the work. If the locksmith is
lower, and has a good reputation etc...
Hire the Locksmith. Small business people
need your money too!
