I just purchased a 1997 saab 9000 aero.  It has some "surface rust" on both front fenders.  Any idea of how much this will cost to be done by a pro?  Is it worth trying to do a repair myself?  The vehicle and rust damage can be seen on ebay..item

Looks to me like you bought the car cheap. Spend a few bucks at a good shop and have it done right. I realize the car is a little old but it's still a nice car. It's hard to tell exactly what that would cost but my guess on just the rust around $300.00 to $400.00. That's just a rough guess. 2 to 3 hours rust repair labor plus paint labor and materials
