Any tips on replacing the rear bumper on a 2000 Toyota Four Runner.  Is it a
DIY project; special tools, etc?

I have not changed the bumper on that model before. My past experience with Toyotas tells me it is a fairly simple job.
Remove and replace pays one hour and to overhaul the assembly, pays two hours. If you are mechanically inclined at all, you should have no problem doing the job in less then four. Those times are for an experienced body man with power tools.
