Auto body repair & detailing/paint scratched off plastic bumper

Question
Hi.  I bought a black Pathfinder 1.5 days ago only to discover it was hit by a shopping cart or something while parked today.  The corner of the back plastic bumper is missing paint and is totally white. It's a small, but noticeable area.  Is this something I can repair at home?  There is no dent but the scratch is about 1/2" wide by 1" long and pretty deep.  Thanks.

Answer
Hello! Get some heavy duty rubbing compound, and try to hand rub the spot out. i suspect it's something left on the paint, not a scratch. If that doesn't work, get a tube of black touch up paint. Black touches up nicely. If that doesn't suit you, then get an estimate from a body shop for repairing the bumper properly. Bill
