Question
I just got finished clearcoating and noticed a run on the quarter panel its about 2 inches long i have 3 coats of clear coat on the car and the base is a copper color metalic i am using a product made by western paint called DIMENTION how would you recomend repairing the run or do you recomend repainting the whole panel the paint and clearcoat were done 2 days ago . any adv..ise would be great

Answer
Hi Mike,

Unless it's just excessively bad you should be able to wet sand the clear with 1500 grit sandpaper (soak the paper for 15 minutes before use). Then you can either reapply another coat of clear or use a rubbing compound to polish out the scratch that the 1500 grit leaves behind. If you break through the clear coat yo will need to reapply color in the area where you break through and re-clear. I hope this helps.
