Question
I have a 2003 ford truck somebody took spray paint to about 2 weeks ago is there anything I can use to remove it safely? thanks in advance
chuck

Answer
Chuck,

A lot will depend on whether you have waxed the truck recently or if it has been sometime since it was waxed.

Always start from the least aggressive solution and work up. Whatever method you use, do not press hard or scrub. Saturate the rag. I would use terry cloth or cotton diaper to help prevent scratching.

Try a spot with a well soaked q-tip to see if removal is possible.

First, try tar remover.
Second, try Goof Off. This can be bought at any home improvement store.
Third, try lacquer thinner.

If you cannot remove the paint, a visit to a body shop will be necessary to see if they have a solution to the problem.

If you do manage to get the paint off, follow up with polish and wax.

Hope this helps,

Bob
