Question
I removed a magnetic sign from my truck (silver ) it left a
white cloudy shadow under most of the sign area.  Much like
oxidation. I tried compound, but no results..Do you have
any suggestions...

thanks,

John

Answer
Hi John,

You might try wet sanding it with 1500 grit sand paper. Here is a link where you can buy a small package: http://www.repaintsupply.com/pd_3m_imperial_wetordry_sheet_32023.cfm

Soak this paper for 20-30 minutes in water and lightly sand until the oxidation is gone. Be careful and not sand in one area too long because you might cut through your clear-coat and then it will need to be re-painted. After you get the oxidation off go back with your compound and buff until the 1500 grit scratch is gone and the shine is brought back out.
