Question
i have a 1987 firebird but there is rust on the driver side doors about one foot from the side fender. how would restore that without getting a new door

Answer
Hi Christopher,

The correct way would be to cut out the rust and weld in new sheet metal. Many people don't have welders or the skills needed to perform this type of repair so they usually resort to repairing with fiberglass resin and mat. Fiberglass is a short term repair that only last a few years at best. Good luck with it.
