Question
Hi!  My drivers side mirror seems to be loose. The dealership says I have to replace the whole thing, but I don't believe it! It doesn't appear broken or missing parts...it just looks like the adhesive is old and not holding.  Can I fix it on my own? I don't have the $300 the dealership wants to replace and fix it.

Answer
Hi Andrea,

It sounds to me like the double-sided tape is coming loose. You can buy double-sided tape to replace it if that's the only problem. Check this website out http://www.repaintsupply.com/cat_attachment.cfm They have many different widths to choose from. Pick the one that most closely resembles the width of the adhesive on yours. Before applying make sure you clean both mating surfaces really good. Clean with warm water and detergent then reclean with Rubbing Alcohol (Isopropyl Alcohol) and allow to evaporate dry. I hope this helps
