Question
I have a 2004 GTO that is Phantom Black Metallic (all one color). The vehicle was transported from MA to AZ and the hauler damaged the rear bumper. It has a 6"x4" area that looks like the plastic was chewed on the lower back of the bumper. I am wondering what an estimate would be for a shop to repair and repaint the bumper? I have found another bumper to replace locally that is 200.00 but also has a quarter size paint chip. Which would you think would be more cost efficient? Would they need to repaint the whole bumper or just the effected areas in both cases. Thank you for your time

Answer
The cover needs to come off to do the jod right and yes, the whole cover has to be painted. Sometimes, we can get away with repairing a small spot but not a large one.
It should cost around $350.00 to repair and install your new, used cover. Guessing four to five hundred to fix the one on the car now. If it was my car, espesialy when thetransport co. is footint the bill, I would demand a new cover and that would cost around $900.00.
