Auto body repair & detailing/auto body prep

Question
my car needs paint, has several deep scuffs, and some minor dents. I want to prep the bad areas and have the shop do the final prep and paint. What materials and tools do I need?

Answer
Hi Jim,

You will need to sand with probably 180-220 grit wet or dry sand paper. Then the surface will need to be primed with a sandable primer before final prep can be done. I would recommend using a sanding board. Follow this link for an idea. http://www.repaintsupply.com/cat_sanding_blocks.cfm

Most of these blocks use either 9" X 11" paper or 2-3/4" wide paper.

I hope this helps.
