Auto body repair & detailing/burn through

Question
I am repainting a truck and while I was buffing the right fender the buffer got hung and caused a big mess. I now have a burn through about the size of a dime. What can I do with this without having to paint the whole fender over? Thanks

Answer
Hi, the size of a dime is very large when it comes to clearcoat burned thru. Repainting is best option. Second option is to touch up area with a the clearcoat (make sure there is hardner in clear even for touch up). Colorsand and polish after dried (2000 grit, wet). May need to apply a second coat of clear touch up if needed. This is not the best way, but the only way if you choose not to repaint. Good luck and I am sue you will do a god job. David
