I need to replace the front bumper and I was wondering if this is something I can do myself and how. I saw that there are bumpers with and without a "mldg. hole", which one do I need?  There are so many to choose from on the website, and they all look the same but vary from only $86 to almost $300.

Make sure when you order your part that you include make, model and year and any other info they may want, like the motor size. All you told me is that you had 2002 Escape, not enough info.
Yes, you can change it your self if you have all the right tools. You will need a body trim tool, 5.5mm or 6mm socket and maybe an 8mm socket. You will have mostly plastic retainers to deal with.
