Auto body repair & detailing/Removing striping

Question
I hope no one has an ego here, 'cause I've asked the same question of two experts at the same time. It's an oddball question, I'm sure. I have an old motorhome in great shape, but the striping is chipping away... especially at the horozontal edges. How do I remove it so I have a smooth surface to replace it. Thanks in advance.

Answer
Go to a auto body supply store and ask for a 3M eraser wheel and arbor. You can put this devise in a cordless drill on low speed and rub the vinyl stripes off. Clean up with mineral spirits and you done. It will take some time but it will work. The only other way is with a heat gun but if they are cracked and peeling, that would make it a real pain of a job.
If you have painted stripes, then you have to sand and repaint.
