Question
How do I remove striping from my motorhome's fibre glas body. The old stuff is chipping. It's an 87 and the edges are especially ragged. What options do I have. P.S. Please let me know your city location. I used to work with PPG Platinum Distributors on a national basis. Thanks! Allen
Hi Allen,
To remove aged striping is a very hard feat as I'm sure you are already aware. 3M makes a couple of products that make it a little easier. Part #'s 08907, 08908, and 07498. The first is a chemical type stripe remover. The second is a chemical stripe adhesive remover. 07498 is a rubber wheel that you attach to a drill that works by friction. In my opinion the 07498 works the best for old stripes like you have.
As to my location, I am in North Central, Arkansas. Basically, at the foot of the Ozark Mountains.
