Question
my husband painted a motorcycle tank for a friend and when he shot the clear on it the paint got a fish eye look to it and when he checked on it today the paint had cracked.what did he do wrong?

Answer
Fish eye is caused by contaminants like wax or grease. The cracking could be caused by a number of things like cheap materials, painting over old paint, spraying the clear on before the basecoat is dry.
Sometimes it cost a lot of time and money trying to save a few bucks, but that's a good way to learn, trial and error. If I had a list of materials and their brands plus the step by step of how he did it, I could tell you more.
