Question
I have a 1999 Chevy Silverado that has rust on both rear wheel wells and undter the driver side door. I am planning to remove the rust in all three locations and put wheel well covers on. I might eventually repaint the entire truck from two tone black and champaign to all black. Any idea what the rust repair would cost and also what is the best method? For now I would like to just stop and hide the rust spots...eventually I will save up to paint the whole truck black. Let me know if you have any suggestions about paint too.

Answer
Hi Chris,

The best way for rust repair is to cut out all areas of rust and weld in new metal. The cost of doing this can vary quite a bit depending on who does it. If you have the skills to do it yourself you can save yourself a bundle. If not then you will need to get an estimate from someone experienced in welding and body repair.

As far as paint cost that can also vary greatly depending on the brand and quality you use. I have seen everything from $125.00 to $1,500.00. I hope this helps you.
