Auto body repair & detailing/New car's bumper scratched

Question
Hello. My dad is buying a car, the car just came from the factory but unfortunately has a scratched bumper. The dealer wants the bumper to be completely repainted before the car is sold to my dad, but I would think that the re-paint could never be as good as the original paint made in the factory. So I recommended to order a new original bumper instead. What do you suggest, please?

Answer
Mark, let the dealer paint the bumper and warranty the work for as long as your Dad owns the car. Very common practice. 51% of cars off the assembly line have minor damage to them and repaired before delivery takes place to the new owners. A new bumper cover does not come painted from the factory. So buying new does not cure your concerns. Trust the dealer and get a written warranty. I am certain you will like the outcome. David
