Auto body repair & detailing/Windshield repair

Question
I live in Montana, and we have one our major highways being redone.  While the crew (road construction) was working on the road a rock came and hit my windshield, which resulted in a crack across the entire windshield.  Is the company (road construction) responsible for this damage, and who would I go to to file a claim if so?  My insurance company or do I try and get in contact with their insurance company.  I need an answer ASAP

Answer
Hi, You contact both. Make claim with their insurance first. Call your insurance to let them know what happened. If the other does not pay, then you can go thru yours. Windshields are cheap (200-400)and may be under your deductible if you have a deductible. Trucking and highway claims are difficult to collect. Your insurance may go after them for you if you request it. Good luck. David
