Question
Hello - someone drove by my car and knocked my mirror 90% off the driver side.
The base of the mirror (the part with the long screws) is still attached to the
door. I found a lumina at the junk yard but can't figure our for the life of me
how to get either mirror off its door. Any ideas where to go to see a diagram, or
a how to?

Take off the inside trim panel.  Look for retainers all around the outside of the panel and under the switch plate and near the inside grab bar. Some outside retainers have a center to push in to release, usually found at the back of the panel. Use a trim removal tool (cheap at your auto parts store) to pop off the panel.
