The rear door on my Liberty will not open.  The dealer service department told me I need a rear hatch door lock actuator and that it would cost $575 installed.  I want to find the parts myself and install it.  Do you have insight on whether this could be the real problem or instructions on installation?

I have seen problems with Chrysler products rear hatch handles but not the latch. I have never worked on a Liberty so I can't be sure if this is your problem. Go back to the experts questions and ask a Jeep or Chrysler tech the same question.
