Question
Hello, I am trying to repaint my grandpa's 1981 Chevrolet C-10 pickup. I need to remove the clear stone guards in front of the fender wells. They are cracked. When it was painted last, the paint shop just painted over it. How can I get it off. Someone said something about a type if acid. Thanks for your time.

Answer
Hi Agostine,

You can use a product made by Kleanstrip call Aircraft Paint Remover. It is designed for removing paint off of all types of metal surfaces. If it's plastic or fiberglass you will need to use a different product. Here is a link to a site that carries the aircraft stripper in an aerosol can which I think would be very convenient: http://www.repaintsupply.com/pd_aircraft.cfm

I hope this helps.
