Hi Mike,
I have a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer with a sort of glossy gray painted factory
finish which is rusting from the protective bumper pad down.Not rusted thru yet
Want to pull pad and redo. How hard is this and what do i need. Thank you for

I believe the pad pops off fairly easy, but I would take the bumper off anyway.
 The materials I use may differ from what's available in your area, go to your auto body supply store and tell them what you are doing, they should be able to help. Ask if they have an auto body step by step guide. I could be here all day trying to explain what you need to do.
