Question
Hi,
I am in the process of restoring & rebuilding a 51 Wilies Jeep.  My question is, after putting on Etching primer, I had a friend metion another primer, or compound to put on it to seal it to keep from rusting.  I live in FL, so rust is a BIG concern for me.  If you could offer some advice, I'd appreciate it.

Answer
Any sort of sealing primer will do okay, but nothing will seal as well as a good couple coats of paint. Even if you are planning to  use something like Rhino liner on the underbody, I strongly suggest painting it first. Nothing does as good a job sealing out mointure as paint. Just be sure to get a base sealer from the same company as the company that you intend to get topcoat from. If you start with DuPont, go DuPont all the way, as an example. Bill
