Auto body repair & detailing/Car finish

Question
I recently took a scotch pad to my car to remove some black marks. What I didn't realize is that I was also taking some of the factory finish off with it. I am now left with noticeable marks (silver car) in a few places. Is it possible to get these buffed out or am I looking at having to do something with the entire body of the car, even though I only have a few marks. Is there an inexpensive solution? Thank you!

Answer
Seek the advice of a competent professional detailer or body shop. They can determine whether you scratched the clearcoat finish and it can be repaired or if you went through the clearcoat and it has to be repainted.

No there is not an inexpensive solution except,"Live with it".

Hope this helps,

Bob
