Question

peeled lacquer
I have a bmw 316 and the lacquer (i think) on the roof has peeled off in one large patch, but has now stop and has not peeled for several months and you can no longer peel any off yourself, i was thinking of getting a friend to re-lacquer the patch, he has done a few paint jobs in the past, would this be advisable?

Answer
Nathan, the roof can most certainly be refinished you and your friend can do it. You will need to sand the entire roof, make sure all edges are thoroughly sanded to avoid peeling. However I would not use lacquer, use a good quality urethane enamel. Thanks Laren
