Question
hi im just starting a career in auto body refinishing and have a phew questions. what is work related asthma and how is it cought and how to avoid it. and what is dermatitis and how does that affect those in this trade.

thanks SFox

Answer
Stuart, work related asthma is out of my realm of expertise, as far as how to avoid it. Is to use always a fresh air respirator, gloves and always wear a spray suit. Stuart I spray in a downdraft spray booth 5 days a week and have been doing so for over 18 years,so far have had no problems with dermatitis. I do constantly battle pain in shoulder and bad knees. Remember Stuart the most dangerous seems to be the hardeners they contain isocyanates that are known to cause cancer, always use full face respirator when you are mixing paint.Good luck with your career. Thanks Laren
