Auto body repair & detailing/98 Sonoma front bumper

Question
Hi William,

I'm looking for information on how to remove the plastic front bumper on a 98 Sonoma 2wd. The two support tabs on the bottom of the bumper have broken off at the bumper and need repair. It looks like some kind of plastic push-through is what holds the tabs on and something else holds the corners of the bumper. I could find no bolts or screws and the bumper seems to be held in only these four places. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Answer
The entire lower air deflector is held on with push pin plastic clips- some models have a 10MM head bolt at the 2 outboard corners. It should slide off with little difficulty. Your other option is to removethe entire bumber- there are 2 bolts athe corners underneath, 4 are accessed after removing the grille. The grille snaps in. 2 bolts are down behind the bumper. It will all make sense once the grille is out. Bill
