Question
I have a 1990 Audi with original one stage red paint.  the paint is in good shape but does tend to show some oxidation if i do not regularly lightly buff/wax it.  My question:  i have some very shallow hail dents in the top.  a local shop says they can remove them by pulling them out with glue sticks.  I do not want them to remove/move the headliner or windseals.  what are the potential problems?  paint chipping?  paint discoloration?  any other possible pitfalls?  thanks you for your help.

Answer
I would go see a professional dent doctor because of the age of the paint. I would also be afraid that with the age of the paint job that there could be some serious drawbacks to using the glue stick method. Dent doctors usually use long, slim prybars and gently massage the dents out from underneath as opposed to gluing a stick to the paint. Sometimes they will use the glue method, but they tend to prefer the prybars. Bill
