Question
Someone told me that you should never tig weld a body panel while its attatched to the car because it can fry the cars computer. Is this true?

Answer
This is absolutely, 100% TRUE. Even if you MIG weld, the negative battery terminal must be removed from the battery- you really should check with the manufacturer for proper electronics  when welding. Some computers need isolated from the voltage spikes that come with the welding process.
