Auto body repair & detailing/stain on paint

Question
My wifes was side swiped and her exterior mirror was shattered. The mirror has been fixed but she now has a stain on the door of her Yukon. I think it from the photochromic ink in the mirror. I haven't been able to remove the stain. I hope you may have a solution.
Thanks

Answer
THERE'S SOME LIQUID WHITE COMPOUND YOU CAN GET A YOUR LOCAL WAL MART FOR UNDER 2.00. IT'S
CALLED"SCRATCH OUT" IN A YELLOW BOTTLE. THIS SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM.
IF IT SEEMS A LITTLE DEEPER INTO THE FINISH, I BELIEVE THEY ALSO SELL PACKETS OF 3M SANDPAPER.
TAKE A SHEET OF 2000 GRIT PAPER FOLDING EACH END INWARD TO MAKE IT THREE LAYERS THICK.WITH A
BUCKET OF WARM SOAPY WATER, (JUST A SMALL SQUIRT OF DISH SOAP) AND LIGHTLY SAND THE BLEMISHED
AREA. (THIS WILL BE THE FACTORY CLEAR COAT YOU WILL BE SANDING, AND IT'S PRETTY THICK SO YOU
SHOULDN'T HAVE A PROBLEM GOING THROUGH IT)JUST GO EASY UNTIL THE STAIN IS GONE, THEN FOLLOW
WITH THE SCRATCH OUT OVER THE SLIGHTLY DULLED SANDED AREA.
YOU CAN HAND POLISH WITH A GOOD MICROFIBER CLOTH TILL IT'S CONSISTENT WITH THE REST OF THE
FINISH.  YOU CAN DO IT,GIVE IT A SHOT.

HOPE THIS HELPS YOU. BEST OF LUCK.  BILL
