Auto body repair & detailing/Water Based Paints

Question
Hi Kim
I have applied my base coat of water based paint. My next layer is a different colour which will be boardered by a painted strip. I wish to flat sand the edges of the second layer of paint before I apply the strip and finally the clear coat. Iam finding that using 2000 grit dry sand paper. the paint is picking up on the sand paper and actually marking the second coat of paint. Can I wet sand water base paint or how do I deal with this.

Answer
Hi Brian; Most of us here in Canada are still using the urathanes and enamels and basecoats clearcoats. I have no experience with the waterbase line .Sorry that I can not help with your problem but please forward info on how you make out..........Thanks...........Kim
