Hi and thanks for your time , I am redoing a hot rod and the body is in good original shape down to steel, what I would like to know is there a primer that after sandblasting and actetone wipe down can I apply with a brush for the initial coat before body work then I can spray after body and sanding. as it would much easier to apply in my situation. Also it does not have to be a show car just a decent job. As I am learning I know it will not be perfect

Hi Sandy
There are no paint manufacturers to my knoledge that have a brush on primer designed to go over bare metal. With that being said there is a product that I would feel comfortable using as a roll on brush on combination.
   PPG- DP90 Epoxy primer and hardner
 Dupont also has a very good Epoxy Primer for bare metal

There is an induction time -Meaning that you must let the mixed product sit for a period of 20 to 30 minutes prior to applying.
Ask for a technical bulliten sheet and follow the recommended procedures.

Also take care to use the proper breathing apparatis as well as rubber gloves and eye protection ...Safety first...Well ventilated area..etc.

I hope this helps you out-The best recommendation that I can give you is to have a Bodyshop in your area Spray on 2 coats of epoxy primer and do your bodywork from there...All the best with your Project............   Kim
