Auto body repair & detailing/Bumper Refinishing: 1997 Buick LeSabre

Question
I own a 1997 Buick LeSabre.  There are some areas (mostly concentrated toward the center) on the front and rear bumper where the paint has almost completely faded.  The paint on the rest of the car is in excellent shape.

My question: how can I best restore the color to the bumpers?  If it isn't feasible for a novice to perform this fix how can I best protect the bumpers from further fading until I can have the bumpers professionally fixed?

Thank you so much for time.

Answer
Hi Cindy, Your 97 Buick should have a clearcoat on it therefore you can polish the paint back up to a nice shine.. Use a hand rubbing compound such as macquires or 3M . You can get this product at your local automotive supply shop...Also apply this in the shade or on a clouded day and not in the direct sunlight... I hope that this helps and all the best to you.........Kim
