Auto body repair & detailing/Fender Well Liner - Is it needed

Question
My daughter just had her bumper replaced and they removed the fender well liner (hope I am naming this correctly). They claim that that this part is not needed and no harm will come to the car without having it.  Could you please confirm that for me.

Thanks

Answer
Hi Ally, Fender well liner? If it is the splash shield that you are referring to -Its purpose is to keep road debree from entering behind the fender and also in behind the bumper. You will have to use your own judgement but I would likely recommend having it installed...Hope this helps you out....Kim
