Question
i have a 1980 chevy truck k1500 and i dont know how to take a rocker panel off or replace one. can you help me? and what kind of tools do i need?

Answer
Year one, the restoration parts people, havea book called how to restore your chevy truck in their literature section. I don't provide tutorials on how to do major body work- it would take a whole book to do that. I give out pointers. Rockers are difficult to replace, you need to cut and drill off the old one, and weld in a new one, in a nutshell. Buy an extended rocker, it's better to have too much than too little. You will need to take off the fender to do it right, and replace the cab corner as well. The rocker runs underneath of them both, and the cab corner is surely rotting also. Figure on needing the back side of the rocker as well. Bill
