Question
I am a beginner and I airbrush helmets and am trying out using automotive clearcoat. It seems like everytime I finish the second coat there is an overspray look (not smooth) Why is this happening and what can I do to fix it?

Answer
Hi Leslie, If the first coat is going on smooth and glossy without runs then you have performed an excellent coat for the next coat of clear. Slow your gunspeed down for the second full wet coat of clear. Be sure overlap each pass by 1/2 the spray pattern.  Check your spray pattern on your gun. You never mentioned type of gun you are using. If you require more info please advise and I will help as best I can. Also try a test panel first to help you see what results you get.......Hope this helps and all the best to you and your painting.........Kim
