Auto body repair & detailing/chemical smell

Question
i had my car detailed yesterday and had the upholstery cleaned. now my car has
a horrible and very strong chemical smell (you can smell it from 3 ft. away from
the car). How do I get rid of the smell?

Answer
What you have is a detailer that does not know what they are doing.

They have introduced to much moisture and soap into the upholstery.

The upholstery should be cleaned again with a HOT WATER EXTRACTOR with just water. I repeat JUST WATER. Hopefully this will remove all the soap they used to clean the seats.

It should then be dried with the use of a blower fan. I have a real bad feeling about this though. If this car has the cloth interior a opposed to the velour interior, you may end up with staining if too much water and soap was used.

Hope this helps,
